Becoming an EMT with EVAC

Englewood Volunteer Ambulance Corps is always looking for new members, both people who have never been inside an ambulance and those who have been EMTs for years. You must be at least sixteen years old to join EVAC

For people who have no training; EMT - Basic is offered at to facilities in Bergen County. The first is in Mahwah at the Law and Public Safety Institute of Bergen County, the second is in Paramus at the Bergen County EMS Training Center (click on either one to find more information on that facility). Training is provided free of charge to members of a volunteer squad, provided that they obtain a Training Eligibility Form that has been signed by the squad President, Captain or Training Officer. Classes usually start in January (ending in May) and September (ending in December). An accelerated summer class is also available at both training sites.

For people who have training; copies of your current EMT certificate, CPR card and driver's license are required to start your application process.

An application form, references, police background check release form and medical form needs to be filled out, signed and returned to EVAC so you can start on your way to becoming an EVAC member. To print out a copy of the application, click here
