Englewood Volunteer Ambulance Corps

NJ State First Aid Council

Becoming an EMT with EVAC

We are always looking for new members, both people who have never been inside an ambulance and those who have been EMTs for years. You must be at least sixteen years old to join EVAC

For people who have no training; the EMT course is offered at two facilities in Bergen County. The first is in Mahwah at the Bergen County Law and Public Safety Institute, the second is in Paramus at the Bergen County EMS Training Center (click on either one to find more information on that facility). Training is provided free of charge to members of a volunteer squad, provided that they obtain a Training Eligibility Form that has been signed by the squad President, Captain or Training Officer. Classes are usually available in the Spring and Fall of each year. An accelerated summer class is sometimes available.

For people who have training; copies of your current EMT certification, CPR card and driver's license are required to start your application process.

An application form, references, police background check release form and medical form need to be filled out, signed and returned to EVAC so you can start on your way to becoming an EVAC member. To print out a copy of the application, click here

If you think that you want to donate your time and skills to help serve the people of Englewood, please stop by our building at 7 Jay Street or call us at 201-569-7962 to arrange a time to pick up an application packet and get a tour of our building.
